Power wash. Scrape and sand every failing edge. Prime bare wood instead of waving at it. Re-caulk gaps and joints so water stays out. Then, and only then, Behr Ultra Exterior paint and primer in two coats. Skipping any of those steps makes a bid cheaper and a repaint sooner. We don't skip them, and we put a 10-year workmanship warranty in writing to prove it.
One honest note: for exteriors we strongly prefer walking the property before locking a firm price. Sun-baked south walls and hidden wood rot are real, and finding them early keeps your quote true.
